The Quay Street Architectural Group (QSAG) is a panel of local residents and exists to promote maintenance of beauty in architecture in and around the Newport, IW, harbour area. For membership please contact any committee member or phone number on the header. There are no joining fees and we welcome anyone who shares similar aspirations.
We have during 2016 actively pursued contact with the local planning office and despite apparent lack of progress in chasing up owners who appear disinterested in their own heritage properties we are assured pressure is being brought to bear in the background. It is also apparent that the Council is frustrated by the sheer number of neglected properties and their limited ability to bring pressure to bear on owners. At the end of the day, if you want to allow your listed building to fall apart there is in reality little to stop you.
